Online Course FAQ

  • The Transport Manager CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) is a nationally recognised qualification required to act as a transport manager for a haulage or passenger transport operation in the UK. It demonstrates your ability to meet legal and professional standards for managing transport operations.

  • Yes, you will attend tutor led Zoom sessions on set days (see course calendar above). The final exams are also online.

  • Broadly, you will cover:

    • Legal responsibilities of a transport manager

    • Driver hours and tachograph regulations

    • Vehicle maintenance and safety standards

    • Road haulage operations and documentation

    • Financial management and record-keeping

    • Operator licensing and compliance

  • Yes, the qualification includes two exams:

    1. Multiple-choice paper

    2. Case study paper

    Both are conducted online under remote invigilation to ensure integrity.

  • The daytime course is 9 days training split over five weeks. The 10th day is your online exam.

    The evening class is 9 days training but split across 9 weeks (two 3.5 hour sessions per week. Again, the 10th day is the online exam.

  • On successful completion of both exam papers, you’ll receive a Level 3 Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage or Passenger Transport, issued by CILT.

  • The online Transport Manager CPC course costs £999 including VAT and exam fees. You can spread the cost at checkout with Klarna.

  • Yes, the CPC qualification is mandatory for anyone applying to become a nominated Transport Manager on an Operator Licence in the UK.
